Transit Finance Learning Exchange Workshop - Spring 2018 - Phoenix

Valley Metro
Efficiency and Effectiveness of Service

March 11-13, 2018
It is time for the 2018 Spring TFLEx Workshop.
The workshop will be in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 11-13. The business meeting will be held on Sunday, March 11, in the afternoon.

The agenda is still being finalized but the main topic will be "Efficiency and Effectiveness of Service", meaning setting service standards, particularly for routes with low ridership. How do you measure efficiency versus effectiveness. How do you get through the ugliness and politics of deciding what service to decrease or cut? We will also be discussing:
1) Federal issues like the FTAs Transit Asset Management program and what effect the new tax law might have on member agencies;
2) how members do their tax projections (i.e. in house versus local universities or other financial adviser);
3) efforts to change employee culture in member agencies; and of course our always popular Needs and Leads.

To register for the event, please use this form.

The host hotel for the workshop is the Kimpton Hotel Palomar at 2 East Jefferson St. Reservations can be made at 877-488-1908. Mention that you are with the TFLEx block for the group rate of $249 per night.

The registration fee for the workshop is $180 per participant. NOTE: The workshop is open to TFLEx member agencies only, and their guests. If you are a transit agency and wish to attend as a guest, please contact smurdock@octa.net
If you are paying by check (at the door) please use the zero-dollar ticket option.

Sunday, March 11, 2018 - 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Valley Metro offices.
